Thoughts on Dragon Ball Super 73

This was one of the better filler episodes. When Mister Satan puts on a ridiculous movie with the Great Sayiaman, Gohan is roped into doing stunts in place of the star,  Barry Kahn: an A-list actor and an A-list a-hole.  Gohan is of course unable to say no to anyone, and agrees. However he quickly finds himself absorbed back into the role of the Great Sayiaman, stopping a robbery and hiding his secret identity.

This episode was full of good jokes and reminded me of the great sayiaman arc with its overly campy humor and Gohan’s good-natured naivety which proves he really is Goku’s son. The appearance by Kuririn was also welcomed. DBS has really neglected anyone who isnt Goku or Vegeta. At the very least its nice to see some of the core characters from Z get a little action even if its just for comic relief.

I was pleasantly surprised that this filler is also a two parter. Thanks to some delightful incompetence of Jaco’s part, Gohan must now fight Baby—I mean Watagash, a galactic criminal who possesses people's bodies. Even if it’s just filler, it’s great to see Gohan and The Great Sayiaman back in action after all these years.
