Goku’s fight against Bergamo is finally here, but Bergamo is
having none of it, calling Goku a fool and begging Zen-oh to reverse his
decision to destroy the losers of the tournament. Zen-oh agrees but on the condition
Bergamo wins and if Goku holds back all the universes will be erased anyway. Not
that Goku has any intention of holding back, the idiot.
The God’s seem to agree with Bergamo and look down on Goku
but when the Gods ask about him Champa says Goku doesn’t seem to have any
limits.
The fight begins somewhat evenly but Bergamo dares Goku to
strike him full force. He does and imprints his fists into Bergamo’s chest. But
Bergamo seams to grow has he takes the damage. The fight is no longer even until
Goku transforms and attacks even harder. But Bergamo manages to absorb those
attacks as well, becoming gigantic. Goku, wanting a better fight bombards Bergamo
with ki blasts trying to make him stronger. He even goes full out with a super
sayian Blue-- kaioken –Kamehameha. Bergamo tries to counter but is wiped out.
As he is carried away Bergamo calls Goku a villain and
screams that All the universes will come after Goku and universe 7 will be
destroyed. Goku in turn dares the gods to do so, the idiot.
After the fight we learn the rules of the Tournament of
power. Fight, killing and weapons are prohibited, and the only way to win is a ring
out. The rounds will have a time limit of about 48 minutes, and the battle
itself will be a battle royal on a huge stage. The team with the most warriors
left is the winner.
At the end the robed warrior jumps down to confront Goku.
The leader of the “pride troopers” of Universe 11: Toppo challenges Goku to a
fight, calling him evil.
Well, that was quite an episode! Goku has been cast as the villain,
and doesn’t really mind. Its a very
interesting plot twist even if it was a bit predictable after the last few
episodes. The animation seemed a little off for parts of the fight but is definitely
improved vs when the show first aired. I am a little disappointed in the tournaments
format as forty eight minutes is little more than two episodes. Hopefully they
will stretch that out by showing lots of simultaneous fights.
I’m not sure if the next episode will be good or unnecessary.
The pride troopers seem like another one of Toriyama’s ridiculous super hero
parodies. So I am looking forward to more of them. As for the next episode,
we’ll just have to wait and see
